의례의 교육학적 의미에 대한 탐구

사회적 행위로서의 의례행위가 새로이 주목받고 있다. 현재까지 의레연구에서는 의례가 가지는 부정적인 측면들이 빈번히 언급되었다. 그러나 최근에는 사회적 관계의 약화의 측면에서 의례가 재탄생되고 있다. 이러한 맥락에서 의례는 이제 인류학적 주제를 넘어서 교육적 행위로서의 의례행위를 주목하는 것이 필요하다. 의례행위를 교육학적 관점에서 바라볼 때 형식적인 측면보다는 비형식, 무형식의 차원에서의 학습과정과 밀접한 관련을 맺는다. 우리나라의 경우 학교와 같은 형식교육적 기제를 통한 의례학습도 교육적으로 많은 영향을 주지만 일상생활에서 성인세대가 보여주는 의례적 행위를 통한 학습 또한 많은 영향을 끼친다. 의례는 신체성과 연행성, 미메시스적 학습과정을 통한 실천적 지식을 제공하기에 매우 강력한 영향력을 행사하게 된다. 예를 들면 결혼이주여성들이 한국사회에서 어떻게 학습해 나가는가의 문제는 그들에 대한 형식교육을 살펴보는 것도 중요하겠지만 한국의 문화적 과정 속에서 어떠한 실천적 지식과 태도들을 습득해 가는지는 그들이 접하는 크고 작은 의례과정을 살펴보면 더 쉽게 이해될 수 있다. 본 연구는 최근의 교육학적 의례연구의 이론적 모형들을 검토함으로써 한국사회속에서 영향력을 발휘하고 있는 다양한 의례행위에 대한 교육학적 연구의 새로운 장을 열고자 한다.
Abstract
As the social behavior, ritual behavior is newly focused. Until now, negative aspects of ritual have been often mentioned in ritual studies. But, ritual is recently recreated in the aspect of social relationship's weakening. In this context, it's necessary to focus on ritual behavior as an educational behavior, beyond the anthropological subject. When watching ritual behavior from a pedagogical perspective, it's closely related to learning process at informal and non-formal level rather than formal level. In case of our country, ritual studying by formal educational mechanism such as school makes lots of effects educationally, but studying by ritual behavior shown by adult group in daily life also makes lots of effects. Ritual provides practical knowledge through the corporality, performativity and mimetic learning process, so it makes a strong effect. For example, it's important to examine formal education of married immigrant women for the problem, how they study in Korean society. But, which practical knowledge and attitude they are learning in Korean cultural process can be understood more easily by examining big and small ritual process, they meet. The purpose of this study is to embark on a new chapter of pedagogical study on various ritual behavior which makes an effect in Korean society by examining the theoretic models of recent studies on pedagogical ritual.
