최근 국내외에서 장애학생들의 문제행동의 감소 등을 위해 뇌교육 프로그램의 효과를 규명한 연구 결과가 발표되고 있으나, 주로 그 대상이 일반학생이나 ADHD, 정신지체 등 발달장애학생들로 다소 제한적이었고 시각장애학생을 대상으로 한 연구 접근은 상대적으로 매우 빈약한 수준에 머물러 있다. 이에 이 연구에서는 22명의 시각장애학생을 대상으로 뇌교육 프로그램을 적용하여, 학생 개인의 요인별 수준(성별, 시력정도, 성격유형)에 따른 시각장애학생의 자아효능감과 불안 감소 등 정서적 발달 촉진에 있어 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 규명함으로써, 향후 시각장애학생의 정서ㆍ심리 발달을 위한 기초 정보를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있으며, 이에 따른 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 뇌교육 프로그램의 적용이 시각장애학생의 자기효능감에 미치는 효과에 있어 성별에 따라 차이가 나지 않는 반면, 시력정도와 성격유형에 따라 차이가 있다. 즉, 뇌교육 프로그램 적용 결과 저시력학생이 전맹학생보다 자기효능감이 높은 것으로 나타났고, 사고형보다 감정형 시각장애학생의 자기효능감이 높다. 둘째, 뇌교육 프로그램의 적용이 시각장애학생의 불안 해소에 미치는 효과에 있어서 성별에 따라 차이가 나지 않는 반면, 시력정도와 성격유형에 따라 차이가 있다. 즉, 전맹학생보다 저시력학생이, 사고형보다 감정형 시각장애학생이 뇌교육 프로그램 적용을 통한 불안 해소에 효과적이다.
Abstract
Recently released studies on Brain Education Program are focused on decreasing behavior problems of students with disabilities. They are mostly conducted on regular students and some are conducted on students with developmental disability, ADHA, or hearing impairment. The purpose of this study is to provide data on emotional and psychological development of student with visual impairment by investigating the effects of Brain Education Program on self-efficacy and anxiety level according to gender, visual acuity and personality type. Brain Education Program was conducted on 22 middle school students with visual impairment. The results are as follows. First, the result on self-efficacy shows no difference in gender, however, significant differences in visual acuity and personality type. Students with low vision present more positive results than blind students in the scores of self-efficacy test. Students with feeling personality type presents the same result. Second, the result on anxiety levels demonstrates no difference in gender, and significant differences in visual acuity and personality type. Students with low vision and students with feeling personality type present more positive results than blind students and thinking personality type in the scores of anxiety test for persons with visual impairments.
