시각장애인의 개인 특성 변인과 독립생활능력 간에 관계 연구

시각장애인의 독립생활능력은 가정, 학교, 직장, 지역사회 등의 삶의 다양한 영역에서 커다란 영향을 미친다. 따라서 이 연구는 시각장애인의 개인 특성 변인과 독립생활능력 간의 관계를 살펴봄으로써 시각장애 개인에게 보다 효과적인 독립생활훈련을 제공하는데 있다. 이를 위해 S시각장애인복지관의 직업평가센터로부터 시각장애인 100명의 평가데이터를 제공받아 분석이 이루어졌다. 그 결과 첫째, 시각장애인 개인 배경 변인 중에는 연령과 시각장애 정도에 따라 독립생활능력에 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 지능, 감각능력, 운동능력, 정서상태의 개인 특성 변인 중에는 감각능력과 운동능력이 독립생활능력과 다소 높은 정적관계를 보였다. 셋째, 독립생활능력에 영향을 미치는 요인을 알아보기 위해 8개의 변인을 투입하여 중다회귀 분석을 한 결과, 시각장애 정도, 연령, 감각능력, 운동능력이 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 향후 시각장애인의 독립생활능력 평가와 훈련 시에 시각장애 정도, 연령, 감각능력, 운동능력이 함께 고려되어야 하고, 이에 따라 단지 획일적인 집체교육이 아닌 보다 개별화된 접근이 강조되어야 할 것이다.
Abstract
Independent living competence have influence on mainstream education, local communication participation and employment. The study aimed to examine factors affecting independent living of people with visual impairment for providing more effective IL training. It was utilized the assessment data by Siloam assessment center for the visually impaired. The major finding of the study were as follows:First, independent living competence was difference according to degree of visual impairment and age. Second, correlation relations for independent living competence had a little high positive relations with sensory ability and motor ability. Third, the factors affecting independent living competence of people with visual impairment were age, degree of visual impairment, sensory ability, and motor ability. So, the basic rehabilitation education and the pre-vocational adaptative training need individual approach based on the assessment of independent living competence.
