EBDT 그림검사에 나타난 미취학 아동 양육자의 애착과 양육태도 예측변인 연구

초록

본 연구는 정서행동 그림검사(Emotional & Behavioral Drawing Test; EBDT)가 미취학 아동 양육자의 성인 애착과 양육태도에 대한 예측력을 가지고 있는지 확인하고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 미취학 아동의 양육자로 총 117명을 표집하였고, 이들 표본에서 얻은 응답 결과를 바탕으로 EBDT의 4가지 하위 요인(적대적 표출, 내면적 위축, 구조적 빈곤, 구조적 불균형)과 친밀한 관계 경험 척도(ECR-R) 및 감정코칭 양육태도 척도 변인과의 경로분석을 통해 애착 및 양육태도에 대한 EBDT의 예측력을 확인하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 하위 요인별로 살펴보면, 내면적 위축이 성인 애착에서 불안 차원을 예측하는 것으로 나타났으며, 감정코칭 양육태도에서는 적대적 표출이 자녀의 감정을 통제하는 억압형을, 내면적 위축이 자녀의 부정적인 감정을 전환하는 축소전환형을, 구조적 빈곤이 자녀의 부정적인 감정을 스스로 해결할 수 있도록 도움을 주는 감정코칭형을 부적으로 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 내재화 및 외현화 문제를 살펴보는 그림검사인 EBDT가 성인 애착 및 양육태도를 예측하는지 밝히며, 투사적 검사인 EBDT가 객관적 지표인 점수로 다른 객관적 검사를 예측할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 이를 통해, EBDT가 그림검사이지만 양화된 채점 방식으로 객관화된 검사로 활용 가능하며, 투사적 검사의 단점을 보완하는 단초가 될 수 있음을 보여주었다. 또한, 본 연구는 표준화를 거친 투사적 그림검사가 일반 객관적 검사의 기능을 하면서도 추가적으로 질적으로 양육자의 내면을 파악하는 데 풍부한 자료를 제공한다는 점에 의의가 있다. 나아가, 미취학 아동을 양육하는 양육자의 심리적 문제를 조기에 발견하여 자녀를 건강하게 양육할 수 있도록 개입하는 데 유용한 기초 자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the Emotional & Behavioral Drawing Test(EBDT) could predict adult attachment and parenting styles of caregivers of preschoolers. A total of 117 preschool caregivers were sampled, and their drawing and survey responses were analyzed. Using path analysis, the predictive power of the four sub-factors of the EBDT(hostile expression, internal withdrawal, structural poverty, structural imbalance) was examined in relation to the Experiences in Close Relationship Scale(ECR-R) and Emotion Coaching Parenting Test. The results revealed that “internal withdrawal” predicted anxious attachment in adults, “hostile expression” predicted a controlling parenting style that suppresses children’s emotions, “internal withdrawal” predicted a dismissive parenting style that redirects negative emotions, and “structural poverty” negatively predicted emotion coaching parenting style. These results suggest that the EBDT, as a projective drawing test, can predict other objective measures using its standardized scoring system, bridging the gap between projective and objective tests. Furthermore, the EBDT provides both quantitative scores and qualitative insights, enabling a deeper understanding of caregivers’ internal states. These findings underscore the importance of considering the psychological well-being of caregivers of preschoolers. The EBDT serves as foundational data for early intervention, supporting effective parenting strategies to foster emotionally healthy children.
