환황해권 문물교류의 교점, 고군산군도‧어청도의 역사적 의의

고대 이래 고군산군도, 어청도 지역은 환황해권 문화교류의 교점이며, 물질문명의 집산이자 인적교류의 출입구였다. 따라서 오늘날 새만금해역이라 부르는 이 지역을 중심으로 한 해양역사문화교류의 역사적 의미를 정리하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 특히 근대를 전후로 한 시기 이 지역에서 이루어진 한국, 중국, 일본의 어로활동의 각축과 문물교류의 자취를 살피고 그 발전방향을 모색하는 것은 매우 중요한 과제이다. 따라서 여기에서는 이러한 문제의식에서 우선 근대를 전후로 하는 시기 고군산군도, 어청도지역에서 전개된 환황해권 한중일 해양역사문화교류(문화적 교류, 물적 교류, 인적 교류)의 역사적 의미를 살펴보고자 했다. 그 가운데 특히 중국인의 어로활동과 일본인의 출가어업과 이주어촌, 생활문화와 산업유산 등 그 교류의 과거를 살피는 가운데 그 현재적 의의와 미래발전 방향에 대해 검토했다. 따라서 기존의 환황해권에 대한 연구성과와 이 연구결과를 토대로 향후 환황해권 한중일 주요 항구도시의 역사문화유산과 그 현황, 즉 각 지역의 문물과 사람과 생활 등 종합적인 측면에서 각축과 교류와 수용에 대한 조사연구가 진행되기를 기대한다. 이와 함께 환황해권이라는 국제적 권역을 이루는 장기 지속적 고유성뿐만 아니라 역동성과 그 통섭성이 구명되어져야 할 것이다. 그리고 이를 토대로 새만금 일원에‘환황해권 해양역사문화 교류’를 담아내는 체험형 박물관과 음악 미술 공연 등 예술관, 레지던시 공간까지 포함한 일종의 교류센터(타운이나 플라자 등)의 유치와 그 발전방안의 강구를 위한 국제적 공동연구가 필요하다고 생각한다.
Abstract
Areas such as the Gogunsan and Eocheongdo Island from ancient times used to be the cultural intersection of Yellow Sea Rim, the entrepot of material civilization and the entrance of personal interchange. Therefore, it is very important that we arrange the history of ocean and its cultural communication focusing specifically on the Saemangeum River Valley. Also, investigating the trace of fishing activities and civilization interchange among Korea, China and Japan is a consequent assignment which can provide a vision regarding its development prospect. Thus this study will first overview the history of ocean cultural interchange(Cultural, Material and Personal Interchange) among Korea, China and Japan in Yellow Sea Rim which was developed in the Gogunsan and Echeongado Island before and after modern times. The study will focus more specifically on the past interchange such as the Chinese fishing activities. In addition, Japanese fishery regarding long-distance fishing, migrant fishing village, routine life of culture and industrial heritage will be investigated along with its present significance and the direction of its future development. Moreover based on the studies of the Yellow Sea Rim, research and development plans will be conducted including not only the industrial heritages of the main port cities and their current status, but also the comprehensive communication and embrace such as civilization, and the daily lives of people in each district. This study is expected to provide not only the long-term persistent uniqueness of the Yellow Sea Rim as an international area, but also its dynamics and consilience to be cleared up in perfection. Last of all, we must establish an interchange center (town or plaza) that can include a participatory museum around Saemangeum that can show the interchanging history of the Yellow Sea Rim. In addition, Art Centers that can provide music and art as well as residency space is needed along with further collaborative research on development plans.
