This paper discusses and gives an overall outline on the development and activation of marine tourism through marine technology. Marine technology has changed the previous paradigm of marine tourism. New technology has made it possible to save time and money involved in marine leisure sports. Other fields of study are trying to follow this scenario to gain the same success and impact. Several possible suggestions are being made. Some of the exemplary proposals are organizing funds, planing a new development area in the undeveloped regional-based industry, building a multi-complex port, win-win promotions between two regions which enhance competitiveness, cooperation with other tourism resources for synergy effect, and new marine attractions. Future research should focus on building a guideline that can be useful in planing regional marine tourism. This research explains the purpose of having marine space based upon six factors. In addition, it also includes an explanation on control element systems using physical standards. Thus, this research is the basis for activating sustainable marine areas and culture, and also a new perspective involving marine technology.
