『헤이케모노가타리』의 충도와 노래 －충도에 있어서의 노래의 의미를 중심으로－

Abstract

This is a study about Taira Tadanori who was one of the characters in Heike Monogatari which is a Kunki Monogatari in medieval Japan. Although it is more right and important for the BUSHI to serve in war, Tadanori went searching for his teacher even when they were losing the war, for his love for WAKA was so great. When he published WAKASYU after the war, he requested for one of his WAKA to be published in Tyokusensyu, saying that he did not mind for the poem to be anonymous. No one would think that this kind of behavior would be appropriate for a warrior. Although in a brave warrior’s perspective, Tadanori‘s behavior should be criticized, but there aren’t any criticism about the actions of Tadanori in Heike monoatari. The warrior Tadanori appears as a brave warrior at war, at the same time depicting him as someone who very much loved WAKA. Besides Tadanori who were very well with both literary and martial arts, among the characters, there was also Taira Yasuyori,　Minamoto Yorimasa, and　Taira Shigehara. And Yoritomo, who could not become a TENJYOUBITO due to his lack of contribution at war, became not only TENJYOUBITO, but also a 3rd ranker in the government position with two of his WAKA. Looking at both cases, Tadanori and Yoritomo, WAKA is considered to be highly appreciated as martial arts. Lastly, it is recognized that BUSHIDO had not existed at the time when Heike monogatari was written. Therefore, it seems that although Tadanori was a Kunki monogatari, his action is not being criticized, but rather considered to be natural.
