Abstract
This study was conducted to develop a simulation algorithm to identify regional variation -related factors to improve health behavior levels in urban and rural areas and to present basic data for efficient smoking management in urban and rural areas. For this study, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's community health survey data, Statistics Korea data, and National Health Insurance Service data were collected in 2019 to develop a simulation model to improve health behavior, focusing on smoking in adults living in Korea. When developing a simulation model for improving the level of community health behavior, EQ (Extremal Quotient) and Coefficient of Variations (CV) were used to develop and evaluate variable-oriented simulation algorithms that can be improved through geographic weighted regression and interactive decision trees. As a result of analyzing regional variations and related factors in the current smoking rate using geographic weighted regression analysis, a total of 228 regional regression models consisting of high-risk drinking rates, average health insurance premiums, basic living security recipients, per capita commercial areas, health life practice rates, and obesity rate variables were calculated. The overall explanatory power of the calculated geographic weighted regression model was 37.4%, and it was found to be distributed from 26.0% to 35.5% by region. The average current smoking rate using interactive decision trees is 20.3%, and in the group classification of the current smoking rate, the group corresponding to type 1 is 1.2 times more likely to smoke than the current smoking rate in a total of 228 regions. Based on the results of the Geographic Weighted Regression Analysis (GWR) using Excel for easy use by local health project managers, a simulation model for the efficient management of the local community was presented when the factors affecting urban and rural areas were improved by 1%, 3%, 5%, and 10% respectively. The results of this study are expected to be used to establish health promotion projects in the future while improving its effectiveness and health through the management of urban and rural areas.
