Abstract

Kang Kyoung-Ae is representative woman writer who had been active in 1930's. This thesis has a proper appreciation based upon careful analysis about one women writer which has been negligent in the existing appreciation for its object. For that object, this thesis looked into 'The Cognition of actuality and Prospect expressed in Kang Kyoung-Ae's Novel', and place the focus on its figuration of characters on various class for its means. First of all, I tried to look into a 'Figuration' about 'New Woman' which had appeared as a 'New Class' at that time. Kang Kyoung-Ae's work that 'New Woman' enter as a main character includes a critical view. It remonstrates with 'New Woman' about false 'Cognition of actuality' of 'New Woman' who is slave to egoistic mind and ostentatious desire by employing method that express the aspect of 'New Woman' who is full of 'Pretense' and the men's view looking at it. Second, I tried to look into a 'Figuration' about 'The Intellectual'. The view about them in work is definitely not worm. She thought that they couldn't slough off 'Stereotyped and hateful 'Small Bourgeoisie's disposition'. As Chul-Su said that "What a man calls 'Intellectual' class are just so-so." in her work, Human Problems, it shows that the intellectual at that time couldn't be existence who try to struggle for historical advance of human society. If so, should the aspiration of peoples who tried to revolutionize society at that time be impossible? Author, Kang Kyoung-Ae present one prospect about that. The author who recognized 'Social Revolution' couldn't be achieved by some part of peoples called 'The Intellectual' says that the people who is under the control could rather be the main power of social revolution. Those her prospect had been expressed through Chut-Zze, Sun-Bi, and Kan-Nan, the people of the lower classes at that time.
