초록
The Korean Theatre has been played a pivotal role for the cultural activities of Soviet Korean community of Soviet Central Asia since the forced deportation in 1937. However, nither useful materials nor screenplay are kept at the archive of Korean Theatre, Due to the lack of materials, researches carried out on Soviet Korean drama are not entirely satisfactory. This article aims to investigate the developing aspect and historical signification of the Korean Theatre of Soviet Central Asia and to list up the repertoire of dramas performed by the Korean Theatre by examining the concerned materials in the Lenin kichi(1938-1990) and the Koryo ilbo(1991) as well as the social circumstances of Korean community and trends of Korean literary world of Soviet Central Asia. The historical signification of Korean Theatre lies at its touring performance for Soviet Koreans, which contributed greatly to the preservation of national language and to cure of psychological uneasiness of Soviet Koreans critically oppressed on the national cause and severely censored in their cultural activities due to the forced deportation to Central Asia from Soviet Far East. Thanks to ever increasing demand of Soviet Korean spectators longing for new play, the Korean Theatre could not stop their efforts and passion for creation of drama. In consequence, the quality of drama could be maintained at the same level as poetry and novel in Soviet Korean literary world. Unfortunately, except several drama scripts included in published collected works of Soviet Korean literary works or kept by the archive of Korean Theatre, thee is no more drama script found so far. It is pity to outline other theatrical works only by the critiques or resumes on performed works in Soviet Korean newspapers, hence it is impossible to carry out serious researches on Soviet Korean drama. Referring to the list of repertoire performed by Korean Theatre, drama scripts have to be collected in the near future so that researches on Soviet Korean drama have to be activated.
