예수에게 배우는 멘토링 원리 - 교사교육을 중심으로 -

초록

멘토링은 사람을 세우기 위한 일대일의 총체적인 지원방법으로서, 인재를 기르고자 하는 다양한 영역에서 사용되고 있으며, 최근 교사교육에서 멘토링에 대한 연구가 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 교육에 대한 지식과 기능만이 아닌 성경적 세계관으로 교육해야 하는 기독교사교육에 있어서, 멘토링은 사명감 있는 교사를 질적으로 기르기 위한 최선의 방법이다. 멘토링을 위해서는 멘토의 본이 되신 예수를 면밀히 연구함으로써 멘토의 역할과 멘토링의 원리를 발견할 수 있다. 요한복음 21장 1절-19절에 나타난 예수와 베드로의 관계에서 멘토로서의 예수의 역할을 중심으로 여덟 가지의 단계를 발견할 수 있다. 각 단계의 이름을 멘토 역할을 중심으로 명명하면, 찾아가기, 지켜보기, 파악하기, 가르치기, 기회주기, 비춰주기, 채워주기, 확증하기의 여덟 가지이다. 교사를 위한 멘토링에 있어 이 단계들이 포함되었을 때 교사는 지식과 윤리, 효능감에 있어 변화를 보이며 멘토링이 균형 있게 이루어질 수 있다.멘토링은 관계적 경험을 통해 이루어지며 사랑과 신뢰가 기본요소가 된다. 그러나 멘토링 관계에서도 인간의 사랑은 하나님의 사랑으로 실천될 때 성공할 수 있다. 즉 예수와 우리 가 맺는 일대일 관계의 원리를 통해 멘토링의 영적, 정서적, 전문적으로 지원하고 보살피는 일을 좀더 잘 수행할 수 있다. 또한 멘토링에 있어서 멘토 뿐 아니라 프로테제도 하나님의 주권(Lordship)에 순종함이 우선되어야 한다.

Abstract

Mentoring, a holistic supporting method for building a men one on one, has been widely used and researched in the areas of human development and teachers' education. Especially in christian education, where knowledge and skills of general education and biblical world view are necessary, mentoring would be the best way to foster responsible, high quality teachers. By studying Jesus Christ who was a mentor himself, we can learn the true role of a mentor and the principle of mentoring. Since in his life and works lie the true qualities of good mentorship. In this paper, we took a general view of mentoring as a teaching method and searched for the principle and methods of mentoring from the teaching of Jesus Christ. Based on Jesus's relationship with Peter, described in John 21:1-17, we found 8 steps for a mentor. In each steps, there were distinctive roles for a mentor and its protegee, and each steps were named based on the role of the mentor: visiting, observating, finding, teaching, wating, reflecting, and providing. When these steps are included in mentoring a teacher, the mentorship can reach its balance and s/he can change in knowledge, ethics and efficiency. Mentoring is formed through experiences in relationships, and its essence is in love. However, only when human love is practiced through the love of God, can true mentorship be successful. Thus through our personal relationship with Jesus Christ, spiritual, emotional and professional mentorship can be accomplished. Also, the mentor as well as the protegee need to prioritize the absolute obedience in the lordship of God. Jesus Christ himself always revealed God' lordship through his obedience; in order for us to truly love one another, our obedience to the truth of God's lordship has to be preceeded.
