초록

본 연구는 부모사별 청소년의 우울․불안에 부모사별 이후 발생하는 부정적 생활사건이 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 부정적 생활사건이 우울․불안에 미치는 영향을 영적 안녕감이 조절하는지 확인하는 것에 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 2011년 3월부터 10월까지 서울, 경기, 대전광역시, 경북, 경남, 전남, 제주 지역에 거주하고 있는 부모사별 청소년들을 대상으로 자기기입식 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 총 192명의 자료가 분석에 사용되었다. 변수간의 관계와 조절효과를 검증하기 위해 회귀분석방법을 적용하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부정적 생활사건과 우울․불안이 정(+)적 상관관계를 갖는 것으로 나타나 부정적 생활사건을 많이 경험할수록 우울․불안의 수준이 높아지는 것을 확인하였다. 둘째, 영적 안녕감의 정도에 따라 부정적 생활사건과 부모사별 청소년의 우울․불안간의 관계가 달라진다는 것을 검증하였다. 본 연구는 부모사별 청소년의 우울․불안에 대한 부정적 생활사건의 영향력과, 부정적 생활사건의 우울․불안에 대한 영향에 대해 영적 안녕감이 조절효과를 갖는다는 것을 검증함으로써 우리나라에서 아직까지 많은 연구가 이루어지지 못한 부모사별 청소년의 적응에 대한 이해 수준을 높이고, 부모사별 청소년의 적응과 관련된 실천적 개입의 기초 자료를 제공하였다는 데 의의가 있다.

Abstract

This study examined the relationship between negative life events and depression-anxiety of parentally bereaved adolescents. Also the moderating effect of spiritual well-being on negative life events was examined. The sample included 192 bereaved adolescents ages 13 to 18 years(boys: 62.0%, girls: 38.0%/father death: 78.1%, mother death: 21.9%/anticipated death: 64.6%, sudden death: 35.4%). Community agencies represented the most common sources of referral. In order to examine main effect and moderating effect, multiple regression analysis were performed. The statistical package SPSS/PC V.17 was used. Major findings in this study are as follows:First, the study findings suggested that negative life events were positively related to depression and anxiety of bereaved adolescents. Second, regression analysis revealed that the negative life events were moderated by the spiritual well-being. This study is the first to examine the relations of negative life events, spiritual well-being and depression-anxiety of parentally bereaved adolescents of Korea. The finding indicated that the level of negative life events influence the level of depression-anxiety. And the level of spiritual well-being moderated the influence of negative life events on depression-anxiety. This result demonstrated that spiritual well-being played a crucial role in the depression-anxiety problems of the bereaved adolescents. These findings suggest that social work practice should consider spiritual well-being as an important aspect of adjustment after bereavement. Also various programs suitable for the parentally bereaved adolescents should be developed.
