사별과 애도, 그리고 회복지원을 위한 기독교 사회복지실천방안 연구

본 연구는 사별로 인한 애도과정에서 경험하게 되는 심리사회적 고통과 어려움에 관해 고찰해보고 이러한 과정에 있는 사람들의 회복을 지원해주기 위한 기독교 사회복지실천적 관점과 실천방안을 제안하는 목적으로 문헌연구를 통해 수행되었다. 사별과 애도는 인생의 어떤 시점에서 누구나 경험하게 되는 생활사건이지만 갑작스런 사고나 재해, 자살 등에 기인 한 외상적 사별의 경우 사별자는 신체적, 정서적, 행동적, 사회적 측면에서 다양한 문제를 경험할 수 있으며, 세상을 바라보는 관점이나 가치관 등이 부정적으로 변할 수 있고, 이 후의 삶에 적응하는 데 큰 어려움을 경험할 수 있어 이들에 대한 사회적 지원이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 애도과정을 설명하는 주요 모델과 이론들 및 치료방법들을 살펴보고, 이를 바탕으로 기독교적 세계관과 사회복지실천의 관점과 방법론을 함께 활용하여 사별 이후 애도과정에 있는 사람들의 회복과 삶에 대한 적응을 지원해줄 수 있는 개별, 집단, 가족 및 온라인을 활용한 상담과 지원 프로그램 등 다양한 방법들을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 지역사회의 다양한 실천현장에서 사별 후 애도과정에 있는 클라이언트들을 만나 상담이나 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 사회복지사, 목회상담자, 가족상담자들에게 애도 상담에 대한 지침을 제공할 수 있으며, 애도과정에 있는 사람들을 지원할 수 있는 다양한 방법을 모색해보았다는 점에서 연구의 의의가 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the psychosocial pains and difficulties experienced during the process of mourning due to the death of beloved ones, and to present a Christian social work perspective and practice strategies to support the recovery of those in this process based on literature review. Although loss and grief are life events that everyone experiences at some point in life, in the cases of traumatic loss due to sudden accidents, disasters, suicides, and etc., grief process can be complicated by experiencing various kinds of physical, emotional, behavioral symptoms, and social problems. In addition, the perspectives and values toward the world of the people in these situations could change negatively and they could experience great difficulties in adapting to their lives after the loss. Thus, social support is essential for people going through these processes. Based on examining the essential models, theories, and treatment methods explaining the grief process, this study suggested various kinds of assistant tools for grief recovery to counselors such as individual, group, family, and online counseling to help people readapting to their lives after loss. This study suggests these programs by utilizing the Christian world view as well as the perspective and methodology of social work practice. The significance of this study is that it can provide guidelines on grief counseling to clinical social workers, pastoral counselors, and family counselors who meet clients in grief process at various practice settings in the community, and also various ways to support grievers are sought.
