1980년대 노동자 문집과 서발턴의 자기 재현 전략

Abstract

This study aims on investigation into self-representaion strategies of contemporary subalterns, which were exposed by collections of literary works of laborer. In previous studies, writings of laborer were discussed as a kind of literary movements. In consequently, the literary perspective of elitism worked as a criteria to valuate their text. And their unique self-representation strategies were unobserved. Subalterns tried to represent their intrinsic voices by 3 strategies. First of all, they rejected literary perspective of elitism, which had been thought as obvious one. They re-located their literary works as not ‘literature’ but ‘writing’ hereby. Secondly, they called themselves as historical beings. They had been called as ‘industrial warriors(or a factory- boys, a factory-girls, or the Reds)’ by ideological state apparatuses. To reject this naming, they selected writing-strategy of calling identity of themselves in historicity. Thirdly, they deconstructed dominant literary standard and experimented different esthetics. They deconstructed dominant literary standard in various ways such as appropriation, parody, re-wring. Especially, new literary modes such as no-ga-ba(adaption of lyrics) and collective writing made a crack in dominant literary standard. Writings of laborer in 1980’s were the most representative examples to reveal self-representation strategies of subalterns in history of korean literature. They even shows a possibility of ‘literature from below’ with which the exceedingly narrow concept of elitism, the ‘Literature’ could be replaced. Moreover, they show characteristics of subaltern writings which was excluded by discussion about relations between ‘literature’ of elitism and politics.
