Abstract
This study tries to investigate an Aesthetic Research on the escape from corset movement with the hashtag #escape from corset a few years ago. Having short hair and no makeup was a common symbol of the “escape the corset” movement which aimed to reject the strict and uniform standards of beauty and social pressure to conform. Their aim was to subvert the huge male-centered matrix called patriarchy by rebelling against beauty standards which were from the dichotomy the feminine/ the masculine( the distribution of the sensible) in Kant’s aesthetics and Korean society. Furthermore lots of spycams were targeted female body as sexual object all around women’s daily life, ie women’ bathroom, subway, and even in their room in the house. The eyes(seeing, gaze) of men’s which were familiar with the pornography and spycams became the cannibal eyes of masculine and were easy to lose control their sexual drive and caused to violence when the masculinity hurt. Therefore By rejecting the beauty standards leads women to rebel against an entire patriarchal dichotomy and cause the disagreement for women’s Knowledge. This means the movement, faced with inequality and violence of men, have had practically to invest new and more appropriate ways of knowing the world. Because women have been excluded from the history of aesthetics and practice of beauty in daily life in patriarchy society.
