본 연구는 음악 정보를 시각 예술로 변환하는 시스템을 설계하고 구현하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 기존의 음악 시각화 연구들은 계산적 분석에 의존하거나 제한된 시각 요소에만 집중하는 한계를 보여왔다. 이에 본 논문은 젠탱글 아트 기법을 활용하여 음악적 감정을 자유롭게 해석하는 새로운 시각화 방법을 제안한다. 연구 과정은 FFT 기반 분석을 통해 음악 속성을 추출하고, 이를 조형적 시각 요소로 변환하는 과정을 포함한다. 또한, 음악 감정에 따라 다양한 시각 이미지를 생성할 수 있는 젠탱글 저작 도구를 개발하였다. 실험 결과, 제안된 시스템은 음악의 감정을 효과적으로 시각화할 수 있음을 확인하였으며, 기존 연구와 차별화된 창의적 결과물을 도출하였다. 본 연구는 음악과 시각 예술의 융합 가능성을 제시하며, 향후 다양한 예술 분야에의 확장 가능성을 시사한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to design and implement a system that transforms the information of music into visual art. Previous studies on music visualization have been limited by their reliance on computational analysis or by focusing only on restricted visual elements. In response, this paper proposes a new visualization method that freely interprets musical emotions using the Zentangle art technique. The research process involved extracting musical attributes through FFT-based analysis and converting them into visual elements of formative art. Additionally, a Zentangle authoring tool was developed to generate diverse visual images according to musical emotions. Experimental results confirmed that the proposed system can effectively visualize the emotions of music and produce creative outcomes distinct from existing research. This study suggests the potential for convergence between music and visual art and indicates possibilities for expansion into various artistic fields in the future.
