초록

The purpose of this study is to reveal specific accounts of the experience of youths jogging in Singapore parks using phenomenological interviews. Six joggers discussed their experiences, emotions, and thoughts about their jogging experience. Data collected from participants were transcribed verbatim and analyzed to establish categories, themes, and general dimensions. Results indicated that jogging in parks elicits positive experiences, reduces negative thoughts and stress, promotes well-being, and motivates personal growth. Thus, this study suggests that jogging in parks can benefit youths by encouraging positive thinking, reducing negative thoughts, fulfilling enjoyment, developing a sense of belonging, enhancing well-being, overcoming life challenges, and improving academic performance.
