초록
This paper explores the significance of vocabulary learning in English for Specific Purposes (ESP), emphasizing its critical role in enabling learners to achieve their professional and academic objectives. The research highlights various effective methodologies, including data-driven learning, technology-enhanced strategies, task-based approaches, and genre-based frameworks, demonstrating their potential to significantly improve vocabulary instruction. Despite these advancements, challenges remain, particularly in defining specialized terminology and addressing the diverse backgrounds of learners. The paper advocates for a more comprehensive understanding of vocabulary instruction that incorporates these complexities. Future research should focus on developing effective, tailored curricula that meet the needs of all ESP learners, ensuring they can acquire and utilize the specific vocabulary relevant to their fields. Ultimately, a holistic approach to vocabulary education not only supports learners in their specific domains but also promotes overall language proficiency and professional success. This study serves as a foundation for further inquiry into innovative practices and pedagogies that enhance vocabulary acquisition within ESP contexts.
