초록

Asian scholars and researchers have begun to establish international conferences of academic associations to focus on Asian data, Asian topics, and Asian trends. For example, ICAMA (International Conference of Asian Marketing Associations), and AAB (Academy of Asian Business) are growing as such organizations in the recent years. Academic research and business training have been transformed into a totally different level by combining new technologies of the fourth industrial revolution and consumer holistic experience. New topics such as ‘Gapjil’ and minimum wage resistance, which had never been seriously considered previously, became hot issues that must be properly dealt by a business in order to be successful in Asia. The purpose of this paper is to investigate and discuss the current underlying issues of Asia-specific business research and consumer trends. More specifically, this article covers the topic of opportunity for Asian business and marketing focusing on data, topics, and research publication. Second, it covers the 4th industrial revolution and customer-centric experience, especially based on the experience in business training for major companies in Korea. Third, it covers important recent business news and their implications for business practices focusing on services marketing in Asia. Academic and practical implications of the paper are also discussed with suggestions for future research.
