한국문학의 슬픔(Sorrow)과미국문학의 혼종성(Hybridity)

Abstract

In this article, looking for the genuine meaning of Korean literature, I assume that in poems lyricism is deeply saturated with the sorrow but not suffering grief due to it, while in novels social concerns become a main issue. Meanwhile, I attempt to posit sort of hybridity for the American literature instead. Korean literature secures purity which is the genuiness of itself according its literary context. Thus, living in a circle of Korean literature I am sure it is meaningless for us to imitate the style of hybridity that absorbs every problematic issues of society. It is of course that the purity of Korean literature might have a chance just being affected by the American style of hybridity without any serious consideration. Therefore, we must concern the spirit of purity as well as a proper flexibility when we perform the work of Korean literature. Now we have to ask as follows. How do we save the essence of Korean literature? And how can we ‘think’ it trying to block the influence of American hybridity up? Preserving the Korean literature as a real one only being able to concern Koreans, I propose a continuous refinement of it, as a result creating a development of Korean literature. I leave this work as a question, but a serious homework through which we can find a way to solve the preservation of the pure spirit of Korean literature. Hence the question I proposed in this article goes into another question again and again in which many contemporary scholars of Korean literature can participate in a eager and various way.
