Abstract

This thesis has clarified the interrelationships of Han as found in Kim, So Wol’s poetry, and also, it has studied the method that he tried to overcome Han. In the chapter II, it has analyzed Han as the most important interrelationships which consists of tradition in his poetry. His consciousness due to loss of his best girl, his hometown, and his fatherland caused him to form his Han. In the chapter Ⅲ and the chapter Ⅳ, it described the method to have overcome Han. The chapter Ⅲ described a shamanic character. Although there were some opinions that his poetry has a confucian interrelationships about a religious background in his poetry, yet this thesis gave attention to a shamanic character. A longing for death as found in Kim, So Wol’s poetry reflects a shamanic view of the world to try to recognize a world of death within a space of life. The chapter Ⅳ described the view of a nature. He headed toward nature in order to get rid of discord and trouble in actuality. The nature which he formed is strong in ideality. The nature which he pursued was a place beautiful and happy, but he did not happily appreciate the nature in the end. The reason is a tragic nature in a human affair. His Han and a method of subjugation is connected with tradition in his poetry. His view of the tragic world was caused by his sensibility which he had been unavoidable from a trouble actual matter. Hence, the present writer hopes that a study on Han and tradition as found in Kim, So Wol’s poetry will be researched with level of a more delicate consideration about his character and the situation of the times.
