『능엄경』의 초발심 이결정의와 육근수행에 대한 고찰

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the merits and functions of Six Sense Organs(六根) as the cause of defilements and the path of Perfect penetration(圓通) through Meaning of Two Decision(二決定義), which is the basis of the practice of Samadhi and Six Sense Organs. In addition, it was intended to discuss Yughaeilmang(六解一亡), the process of resolving defilements. Meaning of Two Decision(二決定義) Buddha said are as follows. First, Starting Point of Enlightenment(因地) must be the same as the Enlightenment of Arrival Point of Enlightenment(果地). In order for cognition to coincide with Starting Point and Arrival Point, we must give up the vein feeling of life and death, so Five Turbidities(五濁) should be explained to overcome it. Second, we must understand the root of defilement and the cause of Samsara. Realizing that the root of defilement and its succession of Samsara are due to Six Sense Organs and Six Aspects of Consciousness(六識), it is necessary to solve defilements through Six Sense Organs. The reason why the practice through Six Sense Organs was presented in the Śūraṅgama Sūtra(楞嚴經) as a means of such samadhi is that Six Sense Organs act as the cause of defilements and the path to Enlightenment. Judging from the contents of Meaning of Two Decision of Initiation of Enlightenment(初發心) among the three teachings of Buddha, it can be seen that the spirit of life and destruction caused by Five Turbidities(五濁) inevitably caused the defilements of sentient beings. In the end, It can be realized that the defilements of sentient beings are caused by the conduction of Six Sense Organs and Six Gunas(六塵), and only after getting out of the defilements through Pracice of Six Sense Organs, the cause of defilements, can be obtained the Buddha-nature of Tathata(眞如).
