Abstract
This study pursues a dialogue with the Confucian happiness and virtue ethics of the Department of Positive Psychology. Focusing on Confucianism's happiness and virtue ethics, I would like to examine how dialogue with the Department of Positive Psychology is possible in Eastern and Korean contexts. In this study, we try to communicate and consilience positive psychology and happiness and virtue ethics in the East and Korea. Through this, I would like to suggest that Confucian happiness and virtue ethics have a deeper possibility of consilience with Aristotle's happiness and virtue ethics than other oriental ethical traditions. In addition, I intend to focus on Confucian happiness and virtue ethics by revealing that there is a dimension of incommensurability within the paradigm of happiness and virtue ethics in the East and Korea. After these discussions, I would like to suggest how positive psychology's personality strengths and Fermat's happiness and Confucian virtues and happiness ethics can be communicated and consensual. Confucianism is Confucianism, using the results of existing positive psychology research, is Confucianism, and virtue and happiness can be communicated conscientiously, according to positive psychology. It was suggested that consilience with the Department of Positive Psychology should be continued in depth not only in happiness and virtue education but also in the field of psychological treatment.
