The Smart Grid Act was enacted to use electricity efficiently in 2011. This Act governs collection and usage of smart grid informations. But collection and usage of smart grid informations may be invading privacy of persons. Therefore, to protect invasion of privacy, provisions of the Act as to collection and usage of smart grid informations should be amended as following. First, when smart grid business collects smart grid informations, he/she should notify a subject of information to items of personal information to be collected and purposes for which personal information is collected and used. Second, a resident registration number of subject that he/she can collect should not be collected. Third, using ranges of smart grid informations should be clearly defined. Fourth, a smart grid business should not provide the third party who is not a smart grid business with smart grid informations. Last, smart grid informations of corporation and smart grid informations of a natural person should be treated equally.
