This Article review the history and globalization of intellectual property rights especially in the context of cyberspace envionment Further due to the exclusive nature of intellectual property rights inevitable collisions occur between the intellectual property rights and the public domiain in the digital information era. Intellectual property rights especially partents have become to play significant role in the distribution and control of difital information For example patents in the field of electric commerce can effectively suffocate the potential developments and the free flows of the digital information for 20 years. Due to the problems of exclusive propriectary nature of the intellectual property rights in the field of software intellectual property rights movements of open source code software have been created Since there exist substantial advantages in the developments of open source community for a specific software products today many proprictary software companies such as Apple Sun or Microsoft rend to converge into the direction of open source code movements On the other hand traditional open source code products such as MYSQI, Bitkeeper Red Hat Linux have taken two-tiered approach of free and non-free licenses Finally this Article reviews the limitations of intellectual property rights to imply the future legitimate direction of developments of the intellectual property rights worldwide.
