아버지의 실직이 자녀의 첫 번째 직업의 위세에 미치는 영향

초록

부모의 사회경제적 지위가 자녀의 사회경제적 지위에 미치는 영향이라는 주제는 상당히 고전적인 주제임에도 불구하고, 꾸준히 그 분석범위를 확장하고 있다. 이 가운데, 부모의 실직과 자녀의 사회경제적 지위 간의 관계에 관한 연구는 주제가 가지고 있는 중요성에도 불구하고, 국내외에서 연구가 상당히 미진한 상태다. 본 연구는 한국노동패널조사(KLIPS)와 ISEI(International Socio-Economic Index of Occupational Status) 점수를 활용하여, 아버지의 실직이 자녀의 첫 번째 직업의 위세 에 미치는 영향을 분석했다. 분석결과, 아버지의 실직 여부는 자녀의 첫 번째 직업 의 위세에 부정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났으며, 그 정도 또한 아버지의 실직 기간에 따라 차이가 발생하는 것으로 나타났다.

Abstract

Although the topic of the effect of the socioeconomic status of parents on the socioeconomic status of their children is a rather classic theme, it continues to expand its scope of analysis. Among them, research on the relationship between job loss of parents and the socioeconomic status of children has not been conducted well at home and abroad despite the importance of the subject. This study analyzed the effects of father's job loss on the child's first job using KLIPS(Korean Labor and Income Panel Study) data and International Socio-Economic Index of Occupational Status (ISEI) scores. As a result, father's job loss had a negative effect on the child's first occupational prestige, and the degree of the negative effect was different depending on the period of father's job loss.
