본 연구는 우리나라 농업을 사례로 1993~2010년 기간 동안 전국 56개 시·군별 기후, 지리 및 토양, 사회·경제적 변수들에 대한 패널자료를 구축하고 리카디언 방법을 사용하여 기후변수가 논과 밭의 경작유형별 농지가치에 미친 경제적 효과를 추정하였다. 추정결과에 따르면, 기온변수가 논과 밭의 토지가치에 부정적인 경제적 영향을 미치지만 일조량은 토지가치에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 지구 온난화에서 강수량변수보다는 기온변수가 더욱더 중요하다는 기존의 연구결과를 재확인시켜 주고 있다. 다른 한편, 토지가치의 사회·경제적 결정요인들은 논과 밭의 경작유형에 따라 상이한 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
This study estimates how much climate variables affect the land prices of rice paddy and dry farm field in agriculture with the case of South Korea. To this end, we employ the Ricardian approach based upon the panel data on climate, edaphic and geography, farmland prices, other economic and social variables for 56 municipal units comprising South Korea during the period of 1993~2010. Our empirical results show that the temperature variable has negative economic impacts on the land prices of rice paddy and dry farm field, while the hour of sunlight variable affects them in a positive way, reconfirming that the temperature variable is much significant in explaining the economic effects of global warming. On the other hand, the social and economic determinants of farmland prices are different with the type of farmland.
