기업의 전략이 CSR 활동에 미치는 영향 : 멕시코 진출 한국기업을 대상으로

초록

본 연구는 멕시코에 진출한 한국기업을 대상으로 기업의 전략과 CSR활동의 관계를 조사하였다. 조사결과 차별화전략을 추구하는 기업은 CSR 전체와 CSR의 하부영역 중 공동체, 노동자, 고객에 대하여 유의하게 나타났다. 저원가전략의 경우는 노동자, 고객에 대한 책임에서 유의하게 나타났다. 그리고 하부영역 중 노동자와 고객에 대한 CSR에 대하여는 기업의 차별화전략과 저원가전략 모두 유의하게 나타난 반면, 환경에 대한 책임에 대하여는 두 전략 모두 유의하지 않게 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 CSR 하위영역 간의 균형과 특화에 대한 기업의 CSR을 수행함에 있어 전략적 선택이 필요함을 시사하고 있다.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between firm strategy and CSR(Corporate Social Responsibility) activities. The results show the firms pursuing differentiation strategy are positively related to CSR in general and the sub-categories of CSR for community, workers, and customers. On the other hand, the firms pursuing cost leadership strategy are shown to be positively related to the sub-categories of CSR for workers and customers, respectively. To the contrary to the positive results both on the relationships to CSR for the workers and customers, the CSR for the environments is shown not to be significantly related to either strategy, differentiation or cost leadership strategy. These results imply that it is required for firms to make a strategic choice in implementing CSR considering the balance or the specialization between sub-categories of CSR.
