젠더 감수성 측정을 위한 구인 탐색 및 척도 개발

초록

본 연구는 젠더 감수성을 구성하는 요소들을 도출하고, 젠더 감수성을 측정할 수 있는 신뢰롭고 타당한 척도를 개발하는 목적으로 수행되었다. 연구의 목적에 따라 먼저 선행연구를통하여 젠더감수성의 구성요소를 추출하고, 전문가에 의해 내용타당도를 검증받은 후 문항을수정, 보완, 삭제하여 구인을 선정하고 각 하위 요인별로 6∼8개의 예비문항을 제작하였다. 문항개발을 위해 서울과 경기도에 위치한 4년제 대학 3개교의 학생 400명을 대상으로 온라인설문을 진행하였고 236개의 응답결과 전체를 자료 분석에 활용하였다. 응답자료에 대해 구인타당도 및 공인타당도와 신뢰도 검증을 실시하여 최종 척도의 타당화 작업을 하였다. 검증을통해 선정된 젠더감수성의 구인은 여성혐오, 적대적 성차별, 온정적 성차별, 성소수자에 대한차별, 성폭력 인식 등 총 5개의 요인이고, 문항 수는 총 28개이다. 본 연구는 우리 사회의 문화와 시대적 변화를 반영하여 젠더감수성의 구인을 탐색하고 측정하는데 적합한 척도를 개발하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 특히 본 연구를 통해 밝혀진 젠더감수성의 구성요인은 젠더감수성의 수준을 높이기 위한 프로그램 개발의 근거가 될 수 있고, 프로그램 효과를 검증하는데에 유용한 도구가 될 수 있을 것이다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore the construct of gender sensibility anddevelop a valid instrument to measure gender sensibility. For this purpose, theliterature was reviewed and the hypothetical constructs of gender sensibility wereextracted in this study. After content validity was examined by experts in the field ofeducation, the analysis for its validity was conducted. A questionnaire wasadministered to 400 university students in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do province. A total of236 responses were analyzed. The validity of the scale was tested through exploratoryand confirmatory factor analyses. The reliability of the scale was examined through theinternal consistency estimate by Cronbach’s alpha. Exploratory factor analysis showedthat gender sensibility consisted of five factors including misogyny, hostile sexism,benevolent sexism, discrimination against sexual minority, and cognition of sexualviolence. Confirmatory factor analysis found that those extracted constructs were validby showing good fit indices. The reliability of the scale was also high. The studydeveloped a 28-item scale of gender sensibility reflecting chronological change andtraditional culture. The finding might be the basis of the development of a programimproving gender sensibility and a useful tool to examine the effect of the program .
