Abstract
· Research topics: Developing a outdoor wear for user activity and accident recognition using a 9-axis accelero-gyro system. · Research background: Outdoor leisure involves environmental and physical unpredictability, posing potential risks. There is a growing need for the development of a smart wear for safety assistance.. · Differences from prior research: Previous studies employed one or two sensors attached to limited body parts to infer behavioral states. This study aims to propose a multi-sensing system by placing multiple sensors around various joints, enabling precise classification between normal and accidental motions. · Research method: A prototype was developed based on theoretical review, followed by empirical research to verify its usability through experiments. · Research results: A prototype was developed that monitors the movements of 15 body joints in real-time and provides accident alerts, using the garment as a platform. Usability was verified through wearability tests on humans and accident recognition experiments on non-human subjects. · Contribution points and expected effects: This study presents a wearable system capable of motion tracking, contributing to the safety of outdoor leisure participants.
