이 글은 남성의 육아휴직 이용경험에 대한 질적 자료를 기반으로 하여 남성 육아휴직 이용에 있어서 조직문화가 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 분석하였다. 분석결과 남성의 육아휴직 이용경험은 휴가신청에서부터 상사의 적극적인 만류와 생계부양자로서의 책임에 대한 질책 등으로 어려움이 있었고, 복직후 업무배치, 승진 등에서의 조직 내 불리한 경험이 있었으며, 이러한 경험은 조직 내에서 육아휴직 이용자에 대한 불이익을 암묵적으로 보여주는 것이었다. 마지막으로 남성의 육아휴직 사용 활성화를 위해서 직장내 가부장적 조직문화와 상사의 태도변화, 사내규정 제도화와 조직문화의 변화 등을 제안하였다.

Abstract

This research explores the past and present experiences of fathers undertaking Parental Leave, based on qualitative data obtained from a number of subjects. I investigated how the culture of workplace supports or discourages fathers from taking advantage of their rights, by examining how parental leave usages are affected by the organization. The supervisors are important agents who discourage fathers to use parental leave. and the organizational experiences are not favorable in matters such as job posting and promotion. Finally, in order to promote the use of parental leave for men, this paper proposes changes in the patriarchal organizational culture and the attitude of superiors, along with the institutionalization of internal regulations, and changes in organizational culture.
