이중구조와 성별 분절이 중첩된 한국 노동시장에서 이중구조가 성별 임 금 격차를 심화시키는지 알아보기 위해 이중구조에 따른 순임금 격차가 성별로 다르게 나타나는지를 분석하였다. 한국노동패널조사 총 20차 개인 용 자료의 임금 노동자 69,678 사례를 이용해 확률효과로 분석한 결과, 여 성 노동시장에서 이중구조에 따른 임금 격차가 더 클 것이라는 가설과 달 리 종사상 지위에 따른 순임금 격차는 더 낮음을 발견하였다. 성별 고정효 과 분석 결과, 여성직종 종사 여성의 임금 수준은 관련 요인을 통제했을 때 다른 직종 종사자보다 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 여성 상용직 사례 중 47%가 여성직종에 종사하는 상황에서, 이러한 여성직종의 임금 불이익은 여성 상용직 임금 프리미엄이 남성보다 낮은 요인으로 추측된다.
Abstract
This paper analyzes gender difference in the wage gap between the primary and secondary labor market in Korea, aiming to discover whether this dual labor market helps to aggravate the domestic gender wage gap. From the personal data of 69,678 employees in the total 20 waves of Korean Labor and Income Panel Study, this study finds that the net wage gap by employment status is smaller in the female labor market and that wages for female employees are lower in female dominated occupations than in other occupations, in contrast to the case for male employees. Given that 47% of female regular employees are in female dominant occupations, this suggests that the smaller wage premium by employment status for females should be understood, at least partly, as the result of their occupational segregation.
