영영판의 범주에 대한 재고찰

Abstract

Gyeongsang Province was one of the popular regions for publication during Joseon Dynasty period; in the center of this, there was Gyeongsang provincial government that led the culture of publication. Gyeongsang provincial government published books(嶺營板) that focused on details connected to central government policies, and details that are needed to govern Gyeongsang Province. Inscription was added toward the end of the entire book without exception, this indicated that the book was published in Gyeongsang provincial government. However, many books that are unrelated to Gyeongsang provincial government policy, published under expense of provincial government due to personal relations to the governors, were found with the identical inscription. Author had been wondering whether these should be included in the publication category of Gyeongsang provincial government. Author believed that these should be considered as books published in personal business of the governors rather than public interest; and that books that are to be included in the publication category of Gyeongsang provincial government should be judged by their publishing purpose. In this paper, we presented a list of publications that can be newly included in the publication category of Gyeongsang provincial government by setting publishing purpose as the judgment standard.
