Abstract

This paper is a comparative study of the sadanchiljeonglon of Mangu(Lee Jong-ki, 1837~1902) and Myunwoo(Kwak Jong-seok, 1864~1919) who worked in the 19th and 20th centuries, it revealed the theoretical difference between the two. According to the regional academic characteristics of Toegye school in the 19th century, there's a separate phenomenon. One of its representative examples is the Jeongjae School, which centers on the Jungjae in the Andong area, and the Hanju School, which is located in the Sungju region. Mangu succeeded Jungjae, and Myunwoo succeeded Hanju. Accordingly, the text tries to determine the theoretical differences between the Mangu that succeeded Jungjae's studies and the Myunwoo that succeeded Hanju's studies of sadanchiljeonglon. Their theoretical difference is to see the differences in the interpretation between the Jungjae school and the Hanju school, a representative Toegye School of the 19th century. Through this process, Toegye's sadanchiljeonglon how it developed in the 19th century separate of Toegye school, it are trying check the pattern of the development. In addition, the major issue of the study at this time is the heated debate over the interpretation of the 'xin'. Accordingly, we also look at the relation of their interpretations with the 'xin'.
