This paper analysis the productivity of regional cultural industry in China, from 2005 to 2009. Along with rapid economic development in China, the cultural industry also developed in the reform and opening-up policy period. This paper uses Malmquist Index analyzed the regional productivity of the cultural industries, include art industry, library industry, public culture services, culture market management institution. The result finds that the regional culture industries have high level productivity improvement from 2005 to 2009, and the culture market management institution and art industry have respectively high level productivity improvement from 2005 to 2009. In the culture market management institution, the Internet bar have respectively high level productivity improvement. As a results, this paper find that the potential of culture industry is very large in each regions.
Abstract
