이 연구는 데리다가 68혁명과 관련하여 직접적으로 참여하지 않고 침묵했다는사실의 철학적 의미를 해석하고자 한다. 이 침묵에 주목할 때, 우리는 혁명적 실천에 거리를 둔 보수주의적 허무주의자도, 구조주의가 불러일으킨 철학 혁명의 대표자도 아닌 데리다를 발견하게 된다. 데리다의 침묵은 구조주의 철학 혁명에 대한탈구축이 바로 데리다가 추구했던 방향임을 알려준다. 우리는 이 탈구축을 탈-구축으로 새롭게 해석해보고자 할 것이다. 이 해석에 따를 때, 탈구축은 통상적으로 이해되는 바와 달리 모든 동일성과 현전 너머에 있는 순수 차이들의 놀이를 드러내는데 이르지 않는다. 데리다의 챠이와 흔적 개념은 현전이 불가능하면서도 항상 가능한 것으로 되돌아오며, 현전의 이 제거 불가능한 부재는 곧 사물들의 독특한 형성운동임을 보여준다. 데리다의 탈구축에 대한 이 새로운 이해는 곧바로 새로운 정치적, 윤리적 실천 개념으로 이어지는데, 우리는 여기에서 전기 데리다의 형이상학의탈구축과 후기 데리다의 윤리, 정치적 사유를 통일하는 일관성을 발견한다. 데리다의 사유는 언제나 다수의 가능성들 사이에서 동일자의 현전을 최대한 가로막고 타자의 현전을 최대한 개방하는 결단과 선택에 관한 사유였다. 이러한 사유는 혁명의탈구축으로서 탈-제도적 실천이다. 우리는 1970년대 철학 교육과 관련한 데리다의또 다른 침묵에서 이러한 실천을 발견한다. 따라서 데리다는 1960년대의 침묵으로부터 1970년대의 침묵으로 향하는 이 보이지 않는 운동을 통해서 철학적 혁명과정치적 혁명의 탈-구축을 실행했던 것이다.
Abstract
This study seeks to interpret the philosophical implications of Derrida's silence in relation to May 1968. When we pay attention to this silence, we find that Derrida was neither a conservative nihilist against revolution nor a representative of the philosophical revolution of structuralism. What he did was to deconstruct the structuralist revolution. We will try to interpret this deconstruction as de-construction. According to this, the presence is impossible but always returns as possible, and this irrevocable return of presence is no different from a singular ‘construction’ of things by subtraction (‘de-’). This new understanding of Derrida's deconstruction immediately leads to a new concept of political and ethical practice, which demonstrates the consistency of early Derrida through later Derrida. Thus the de-construction of the philosophical and political revolution is a very singular constructive practice that chooses between the plural possibilities of the presence of the other and the same.
