지문 인식은 그 사용의 편리성과 비교적 높은 보안성에 의하여 가장 널리 연구되는 생체인식 기술 중에 하나이며, 최근에는 지문 영상을 획득하는 입력 부분에서부터 본인 여부를 결정하는 최종 정합까지, 대규모 사용자를 위하며 고인식의 신뢰성을 얻기 위한 다양한 연구가 진행 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 지문 인식 시스템을 위한 핵심 기술 중, 최근에 연구되는 기술들을 위주로 살펴 보았다. 지문 인식과 관련된 기술을 크게 지문 영상 획득, 특징 추출, 지문 정합, 대규모 사용자를 위한 분류, 고 인식을 위한 융합에 대한 다섯 부분과 이밖에도 위조 지문 판별과 지문 특징의 유일성에 관련된 문헌들을 나누어 분석하고 이를 위하여 관련된 국내외 논문 및 특허 그리고 웹 사이트 주소까지 조사하여 총148편의 참고문헌이 인용 되었다. 본 논문은 서론에서는 지문 인식의 역사 및 지문 인식 시스템의 개요 등 부분적으로는 지문 인식을 소개하는 부분도 있으나, 주로 지문 인식에 관심이 있거나 경험이 있는 사람을 대상으로 국제적으로독창성이 있는 연구를 위주로 고려하였다.
Abstract
The fingerprint recognition is most popular researching area in biometric recognition technologies because of its convenience for usage and relatively higher levels of security. Recently, every process, from the fingerprint capturing to the matching process, in the fingerprint recognition system, has been developed to increase verification performance under large database environment. In this paper, we presented a survey of recent publications about the core fingerprint recognition technologies. The publications are classified based on the 5 basic procedures, such as fingerprint capturing, feature extraction, matching, classification, and image registration, in a general fingerprint recognition system. Additionally, the vitality determination and uniqueness of a fingerprint are also considered when classifying the 148 number of publications consisting international or domestic papers, patents and web-sites. Even though this paper states briefly the history of fingerprint for authentication as well as the outline of the fingerprint recognition system, it considers the creative researches, since it mainly focuses on the experts and the experienced person of the fingerprint recognition system.
