본 논문에서는 VoiceXML(Voice eXtensible Markup Language) 기반 음성응용시스템에 대한 기술 및 동향에 대해 기술한다. 먼저 VoiceXML 개념과 구조에 대해서 설명하며 최근에 제안된 VoiceXML 2.0의 특징에 대해서 기술한다. 또한 VoiceXML을 사용하는 음성응용 사례에 대한 프로그램을 설명한다. 그리고 마이크로소프트사(MicroSoft)가 주축이 되어서 제안된 SALT에 대해서 기술하며 VoiceXML과 차이점을 알아본다. VoiceXML은 음성인터페이스를 웹상에서 쉽게 사용 할 수 있게 해 주는 XML 언어이며 유/무선 통신망기반 서비스를 쉽게 개발 할 수있게 해 준다. 반면 SALT(Speech Application Language Tags)는 음성뿐만 아니라 펜, 마우스 및 키보드 등을 제어하는 멀티모달 서비스를 위한 언어이다. 마지막으로 VoiceXML 기술을 사용하는 음성응용 서비스 동향에 대해서 알아 보고 최근에 KT에서 개발한 VoiceXML 기반 음성응용 서비스에 대해서 기술한다.
Abstract
In this paper, we describe technologies and trends about speech application systems based on VoiceXML (Voice extensible Markup Languag). Firstly, concept and structure of VoiceXML are explained and some features about VoiceXML 2.0 recently proposed are described too. And we also explain an example of VoiceXML program for speech applications. Then we describe SALT (Speech Application Language Tags) proposed by mainly MicroSoft company and compare it with VoiceXML in view of application area. VoiceXML is an XML language for writing Web pages you interact with by listening to spoken prompts, and control by means of spoken input. VoiceXML brings speech application developers to easy, fast development of speech applications based on wire/wireless telephone networks, while SALT brings Web programmers to easy, fast development of multi-modal interfaces including speech, pen, mouse and keyboard interfaces. Finally, we show recent trends about speech application services and a speech application service based on VoiceXML, which was developed by KT.
