Abstract
In the era of the Internet-of-Things (IoT), a huge number of devices are connected to the internet, producing many contents. These device-producing-contents will be manipulated by multiple servers throughout the route, and those processed contents will be delivered to other end-devices. Therefore, there’s a concern that TCP/IP based network which uses end-to-end connection cannot fully accommodate the IoT era. Content-Centric Networking (CCN), a prominent candidate for the future internet, uses name of the contents for distinguishing each packets, and locate contents cache in routers for more efficient contents delivery. In this paper, we set a scenario of an IoT network implemented with CCN to analyze contents delivery time and network traffic loads in user plane with simulation. In result, CCN based contents service can reduce both link usage and user’s contents downloading time by adjusting cache size, which proves that CCN could be a useful network architecture for the IoT services.
