실리콘 칩을 기반으로 하거나, 칩의 통신 및 신호처리 능력을 이용하는 나노 바이오 칩의 개발은 단순히 센서 칩의 개발보다는 더 큰 반도체 기술과 산업에 영향을 줄 수 있다. 반도체칩이 전기신호, 빛 신호를 받아들여, 디지틀 신호로 처리하고 저장하는 현재의 디지틀 컨버전스 단계에서 발전해서 다음 단계인 '분자 컨버전스‘시대를 위한 기반 기술 동향과 가능성에 대해서 정리하고 미래를 조망한다. 서울대 나노 응용시스템 국가핵심 연구센터에서 개발하고 있는 C chip을 예로 들어, 분자 IT 컨버전스가 일어나기 위해서 필요한 개발 방식에 대해서 조망한다.
Abstract
The Nano bio chip based on the CMOS technology with the capability of signal processing and telemetry capability will give a big impact to the society as well as the silicon chip market. The new paradigm, which may be called the molecular convergence chip, may be equivalent to the digital convergence which has been the driving force for the market jump in the past 2 decades. Using the C chip platform being developed in NSI NCRC in Seoul National University as an example, the necessary conditions for the success for the molecular convergence will be reviewed.
