대학생의 학업성취(Ⅱ)에 대한 새로운 예측변수의 탐색

이 연구는 직접 관찰이 가능하거나 학생에게 간단히 물어볼 수 있는 질문들 중에서 대학입학 이후의 학업성취를 예측할 수 있는 효과적인 변수를 발굴하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 학업성취를 효과적으로 예측할 것으로 예상되는 학교만족도, 학과만족도, 강의만족도, 희망출석률 등 네 개의 대학생활 만족도 변수 및 재수여부, 입학희망 우선순위, 강의실 좌석, 출석률 등 네 개의 학습자특징 변수와 학업성취간의 관계가 분석되었는데, 대학에서의 성적은 대입 전형요소보다 대학생활 만족도와 학습자 특징 변수에 의해서 훨씬 잘 예측되었으며, 이들 변수의 예측력은 학습동기 변수의 예측력보다도 높은 것으로 나타났다. 대학생활 만족도와 학습자특징 변수의 특성이 변수들간의 상관관계와 학습동기 변수와의 상관관계에 의해서 검토되었으며, 연구결과의 의미와 이를 활용한 학생지도 방안이 논의되었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find efficient explanation variables for college students' academic achievement that could be directly observed by researchers or easily answered by students themselves. Four college life satisfaction variables such as school satisfaction, major satisfaction, lecture satisfaction, and the desired attendance rate, and four students' characteristic variables such as the length of period after high school graduation, priority among the admitted colleges, the seating position in the classroom, and the attendance rate were examined.The results show that college life satisfaction variables and students' characteristic variables forecast students' academic achievement better than the admission criteria variables and academic motivation variables. The correlations between the college life satisfaction variables, and students' characteristic variables, and academic motivation variables were examined. The implications of the results and applications of the results to enhance students' academic achievement were discussed.
