본 연구에서는 최근 교육계 내에서 중요성이 점차 증가하고 있는 교육NGO의 현황에 대한 종합적인 분석을 통해 앞으로 교육시민단체가 나아가야 할 방향을 모색하고자 하였다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 먼저 교육NGO의 전반적인 실태, 특성, 현황 등을 단체수, 설립시기, 법인형태, 회원수, 대표자 특성, 상근자 그리고 예산의 각 항목별로 세부적으로 연구하였다. 주요 연구결과를 살펴보면 최근 교육NGO가 급속히 증가하고 있음에도 불구하고 각 교육NGO의 저변확대나 운영상태는 상당히 열약한 것으로 나타났다. 연구자는 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 해서 앞으로 교육시민단체가 나아가야 할 방향을 제시하였다.
Abstract
Education NGOs in Korea Yang, jungho(Sungkyunkwan University)Kim, sungchun(Sungkyunkwan University)This study tries to examine the emergence of Korean Non-Governmental Organi- zations(NGOs) in education over the past several decades. Surveying the historical landscape of Korea's third sector in education reveals how rapidly it have evolved, and this recent democratic transition provides a background against which it’s civil society can be examined. We find that almost all educational NGOs have operated within their limited resources, but they became important agents in terms of their increasing role in educational policy formation. We discuss the implications of these findings for helping to further develop the educational NGOs in the future.
