청소년의 온라인 관계유지행동이 정신적 웰빙에 미치는 영향에서 오프라인 관계유지행동의 조절효과

인터넷을 기반으로 한 사회네트워크서비스(SNS)의 사용이 확산됨에 따라 청소년들의 삶에서 온라인 대인관계의 영역이 갈수록 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 온라인 관계유지행동이 청소년의 정신적 웰빙에 미치는 영향에서 오프라인 관계유지행동의 조절효과를 파악하고자 하였다. 연구대상은 서울, 경기지역의 청소년 656명을 대상으로 하였다. 설문조사에는 온라인 관계유지행동, 오프라인 관계유지행동 및 정신적 웰빙을 측정하는 문항들을 포함하였다. 주요 연구결과를 요약하면 첫째, 청소년들의 관계유지행동은 온라인 공간에서 보다 오프라인 공간에서 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 오프라인 관계유지행동은 청소년의 정신적 웰빙을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 온라인 관계유지행동이 정서적, 심리적 웰빙에 미치는 영향에서 오프라인 관계유지행동의 조절효과가 유의하였다. 즉 온라인 관계유지행동이 정신적 웰빙에 미치는 영향이 오프라인 관계유지행동 또한 높은 경우에는 긍정적인 영향을 줄 수 있는 반면 오프라인 관계유지행동이 낮은 경우에는 오히려 청소년의 정신적 웰빙에 도움이 되지 않는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 마지막으로 본 연구결과의 의의와 제한점, 앞으로의 연구 방향에 대해 논의하였다.
Abstract
Many new and important developmental issues are encountered during adolescence, which is also a time when SNS(social network service) becomes increasingly popular. The research attempts to examine the effect of online relational maintenance, offline relational maintenance and their interaction effect on adolescents’ well-being. Six hundred and fifty-six high school students completed an questionnaire about the activities on social networking sites, online/offline relational maintenance strategies and their well-being. Results reveal that adolescents’offline relational maintenance was positively associated with well-being. The offline relational maintenance moderated the relation between the online relational maintenance and adolescents’ well-being. These findings imply the offline relationship is fundamental factor to understand the influence of online relationship on well-being. Finally, the implications of these findings and directions for future study were discussed.
