청소년의 부모화 군집에 따른 사회인구학적 특성, 우울 증상, 안녕감의 차이

초록

본 연구에서는 수도권에 소재한 고등학교 1, 2학년에 재학 중인 남녀 청소년 203명을 대상으로 부모화의 하위요인에 따라 군집을 구분하고, 구분된 군집별 청소년의 사회인구학적 특성 및 청소년이 지각하는 부모화 관련 특성, 우울 증상, 안녕감의 차이를 검증하였다. 연구결과, 먼저 청소년의 부모화는 그 하위요인에 따라 ‘높은 부모화형’, ‘물리․불공평형’, ‘물리․정서형’, ‘정서․불공평형’, ‘낮은 부모화형’의 5개의 집단으로 구분되었다. 둘째, 청소년의 부모화 군집 간 ‘가족형태’와 ‘형제 유무’, ‘부모 부재 경험 유무’, ‘장애나 만성질환이 있는 가족 유무’, ‘청소년이 지각하는 부모화의 가정환경적 원인’, ‘부모화의 시작 시기’, ‘과거 및 현재 가정형편’, ‘부모화 경험에 대해 지각된 버거움’의 차이가 통계적으로 유의하였다. 셋째, 청소년의 부모화 군집별 우울 증상과 안녕감의 차이는 유의하였는데, 먼저 높은 부모화형, 물리․불공평형, 정서․불공평형 집단의 우울 증상이 물리․정서형과 낮은 부모화형 집단보다 유의하게 높았다. 또한, 물리․불공평형보다 물리․정서형 집단의 정서적 안녕감과 사회적 안녕감이 유의하게 높았다. 본 연구는 부모화의 하위요인에 따른 청소년의 부모화 군집을 확인하고 다각적인 관점에서 군집별 관련 특성들의 차이를 규명함으로써 청소년의 부모화 양상에 대한 구체적인 이해를 도모하였다는 데 의의가 있다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to classify adolescent's parentification according to the sub-factors of parentification and to examine differences of parentification clusters in their sociodemographic characteristics, depressive symptoms, and well-being. The subjects of this study were 203 students in the 1st and 2nd grade of high schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi-Do. First, adolescent's parentification was classified into five different clusters, instrument․inequality cluster, instrument․emotion cluster, the high parentification cluster, emotion․inequality cluster, and the low parentification cluster. Second, there were statistically significant differences among parentification clusters in family structure, the existence of a sibling, absence of parent(s), the existence of family member with disability or chronic diseases, family environmental circumstances, age of onset, past/present household economical status, and perceived difficulty of parentification. Third, depressive symptoms of the three clusters, the high parentification cluster, instrument․inequality cluster and emotion․inequality cluster, were significantly higher than instrument․emotion cluster and the low parentification cluster. Finally, emotional and social well-being of instrument․emotion cluster were significantly higher than those of instrument․inequality cluster. This study provides initial evidence for the usefulness of parentification clusters to better understand adolescent's parentification in diverse contexts.
