근대의 산업혁명 이후부터 각종 새로운 건축 재료의 등장과 건축공법 기술의 발전으로 인하여 건축과 건축외피와의 경계를 구분 지을 수 있기 시작하면서, 지금은 건축의 구조와 외피가 완전히 따로 분리를 할 수 있을 만큼, 각각의 영역을 독자적으로 구축하고 있다. 더 나아가서, 이제는 건축외피가 단순히 고정된 요소가 아니라, 주변의 상황에 따라서 변화가 가능한 요소로까지 이뤄지고 있다. 아울러, 건축외피가 단순히 신기술의 표현으로만 끝나는 것이 아니라, 자연 환경을 생각한 `에너지 소비 및 보존`이라는 친환경적 주제의 측면에서 접근을 시도하고 있다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 기존의 건축외피와 그것에 적용된 인터랙션디자인에 관한 선행연구를 하고, 심층적으로는 자연요소 활용으로 유명한 환경건축가이자 작가인 네드칸(Ned Kahn)의 작품사례를 중심으로 참고하여, 그 분석 결과를 가지고, 자연적인 요소가 적용된 건축외피의 인터랙션디자인에 관하여 연구하고자 한다.
Abstract
After the industrial revolution of modern times, boundaries between building and building skin were divided due to the appearance of various new construction materials and the development of construction method technology. Currently, building structure and building skins are composed of independent domains to be completely separated from one another. The function of building skins do not merely end as an expression of new technology, but attempts to achieve approach from the aspect of environment-friendly topic of 'energy consumption and preservation' which considers natural environment. Thus, the purpose of this study is to research existing building skin and precedent studies related to interaction design with building skin application and refer to work cases of 'Ned Kahn', an environmental architect and writer who is famous for using natural elements, in order to use such analysis results for conducting research on interaction design of building skins with the application of natural elements.
