Abstract

Kim, Je Yeol. 2004. Syllabuses of Korean Linguistic Section for Korean Language Teacher Training Programs. Teaching Koreans as a Foreign Language, 29, 87~116. This paper purposes to introduce syllabuses of Korean linguistic section for Korean language teacher training programs, which are carried out in the teacher training institutes attached to Universities. Syllabuses which are counted importantly in the Korean Linguistic section are divided into 5 subjects: an introduction to Korean Linguistics, a Korean grammar education, a Korean pronunciation education, a Korean vocabulary and meaning education, and a Korean orthography education. The basic ways of selecting syllabuses in Korean linguistic section based on survey researches are suggested in Chapter 2. And the adequate percentage of educational time of Korean linguistic section in Korean language teacher training program, based on investigating teacher training systems of foreign languages, is suggested in Chapter 3, and 5 subjects of Korean linguistic section are selected in Chapter 4. Finally, detail syllabuses in Korean linguistic section for Korean language teacher training programs are suggested in Chapter 5. (Yonsei University)
