The target of the study provided is to improve the teaching method of the language institute by looking at the academic self-efficacy of students that are leaning the Korean language. In order to analyze the academic self-efficacy of these students, we surveyed 762 students currently attending the Yonsei Korean Language Institute. We took age, gender, native language, and motive for learning Korean into consideration. When compared to the variable group, we saw meaningful statistical differences. When looking at statistical gender differences, male students preferred a higher task difficulty preference over their female counterpart. We also saw a significant difference when we compared students from different countries. When we compared Japanese students to Western and Chinese students, they ranked task difficulty preference and academic self-efficacy on a lower scale. Also, there was meaningful statistical correlation of academic self-efficacy and academic achievements.
