대학 생태환경 교양교육을 위한 교육 방안 모색

이 연구는 현재 대학에서 교양 교육으로 이루어지고 있는 환경생태 교육의 현황을 살펴보고 그것의 의의와 한계를 검토하는 데 목표가 있다. 학교 주변의 생태를 탐방하는 경험을 통해 자연에 대한 가치와 인간의 책무를 체득하는 ‘생태 체험형 교육’과 생태적이고 전통적인 삶의 방식을 실생활에서 체험한 뒤 그 변화를 스스로 점검하고 확인하는 데 주안을 둔 ‘생활 실천형 교육’이 있다. 그리고 문학작품이나 책을 읽으면서 발견한 생태 문제를 관련 텍스트를 읽고 토의하는 과정에서 심화・확장한 뒤 글로 표현하고 정리하는 과정에서 내면화하는 ‘영역 융합형 교육’과 오늘날 현실 세계에서 발견할 수 있는 다양한 환경 문제를 팀 프로젝트를 통해 함께 이해하고 해결 방안을 찾아가는 학습자 주도의 교육 방법인 ‘학습자 주도의 프로젝트형 교육’도 있다. 이와 같은 교육 방법들은 대학 교육 환경이나 강의실 상황에 따라 제약을 받을 수 있으므로 대학 생태환경 교육의 특성을 고려한 행정적 지원이 필요하다. 대학 교육으로서 독자성과 초중등 환경교육과의 연계성을 확보하기 위해, 대학 생태환경 교육의 거시적인 목표에 대한 학술적, 교육적 논의가 필요하다. 그리고 생태환경에 대한 이론 강의를 바탕으로 환경 문제에 대한 학생들의 인식에서 시작하는 교육 방법을 대신할 다양한 유형의 교육 방법과 모형이 개발되어야 할 것이다. 이 연구는 그동안 대학 생태환경 교육이 이뤄낸 교육적 성과를 정리하고, 대학 생태환경 교육만의 정체성 확보를 위한 학술적, 교육적 논의의 필요성을 제안하였다.
Abstract
This study aims to examine the current status of environmental ecological education currently being conducted in liberal arts education in universities and to examine its significance and limitations. There are "eco-experiential education" that learns the value of nature and human responsibilities through the experience of exploring the ecology around the university, and "life-practical education" that focuses on checking and confirming the changes after experiencing ecological and traditional lifestyles in real life. In addition, there is "territory convergence education" in which ecological problems found while reading literature or books are deepened and expanded in the process of reading and discussing related texts, and "learner-led project-type education," which is a learner-led education method to understand and find solutions to various environmental problems in the real world today. These educational methods may be restricted depending on the university education environment or classroom situation, so administrative support is needed in consideration of the characteristics of university ecological environment education. In order to secure independence as university education and connection with elementary and secondary environmental education, academic and educational discussions on the macroscopic goals of university ecological environment education are needed. In addition, various types of educational methods and models should be developed to replace educational methods that begin with students' perception of environmental problems based on theoretical lectures on the ecological environment. This study summarized the educational achievements achieved by university ecological environment education and suggested the necessity of academic and educational discussions to secure the identity of university ecological environment education.
