Abstract
Ecofeminist films tend to combine environmental issues with women in terms of “Mother Earth.” Films dealing with environmental issues of ecofeminism and Land Ethic emphasize the interdependence of female experiences and the interconnection with nature. Focusing on the aspect of ecofeminism, this study examines Aldo Leopold's position that all human communities belong to nature and should be viewed in terms of Land Ethic. Okja and Space Sweepers show strong female characters who practice Land Ethic. The two movies represent such posthuman beings like super pig, Okja, and nano robot Dorothy. In Okja, Mija, a young Korean country girl, saves Okja’s life by resisting global company, Mirando. Dorothy has a super healing power and is able to save the Earth from the apocalypse status in Space Sweepers. Every character in the two films find his or her own Utopia ecosystem after experiencing a lot of challenges. Ecological films that show the process of restoring nature and forming ecological communities through mutual cooperation and coexistence can be said to be a field of deep ecology which leads to practical implementation of ecological issues.
