본 연구에서는 국민노후보장패널 1차년도(2005년) 학술대회용 자료를 사용하여 완전은퇴자와 부분은퇴자의 인구․사회학적, 경제적 특성을 비교하고, 이들을 다시 은퇴결정 자발성여부에 따라 세분화하여 집단 간 특성을 비교분석하였다. 또한 완전은퇴와 부분은퇴 선택에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 분석하였다. 본 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 남성이 여성 보다 부분은퇴를 하는 경향이 높았고, 특히 비자발적 부분은퇴 집단에서 남성의 비율이 높았다. 은퇴시점 연령은 완전은퇴 집단이 부분은퇴 집단 보다 높았고, 자발적 부분은퇴 집단이 비자발적 부분은퇴 집단 보다 높았다. 비자발적 부분은퇴 집단은 평균 연령이 가장 낮고, 신체적 건강상태는 가장 좋았으나, 심리적 건강상태가 좋지 않았다. 둘째, 임금근로자 보다는 비임금근로자(자영업자, 무급가족종사자)가 부분은퇴를 선택할 가능성이 높았다. 셋째, 자발적 완전은퇴 집단은 가계소득과 지출이 가장 많았고, 각종 금융자산과 부동산의 보유율은 낮은 반면, 보유자의 평균 보유액이 가장 높았다. 즉 소수의 가계가 많은 액수의 자산을 보유하고 있어, 완전은퇴 집단 내의 경제적 수준 차이가 큼을 예측할 수 있었다.
Abstract
This study compared demographic, job-related and economic characteristics between full retirement group and partial retirement group. And it compared those characteristics among voluntary full retirement, voluntary partial retirement, involuntary full retirement, and involuntary partial retirement groups, and examined the determinants of voluntary full or partial retirement. From the 2005 Korean Retirement and Income Study(KReIS), 1,726 full retirees and 528 partial retirees were selected. A t-test, chi-square test, ANOVA, and logistic regression analyses was completed. The findings of this study were as follows: First, male were more likely to retire partially than were female. The probability of involuntary partial retirement was higher for male. Second, full retirees were older than partial retirees, and voluntary partial retirees were older than involuntary retirees. The involuntary partial retirees were young and healthy physically, but they were unhealthy psychologically. Third, the non-wage earners (business owners, unpaid family workers) were likely than wage earners to retire partially. Fourth, the voluntary full retirees had higher income and expenditures. The percentage of those who had financial assets was lower for full retirees than for other groups, however, the amounts of financial assets were larger for full retirees than for other groups.
